CHESTERFIELD- WBNC News cameras were on hand at Chesterfield Elementary School Friday morning as the students celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday.
All week, the students dressed for different themed days, based on the author's book titles, such as on 'Fox in Socks' day, the students wore crazy socks to school. And on 'The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins' Day, the students wore their favorite hat. Today, they had a school-wide reading time called DEAR, which stands for Drop Everything And Read. In the morning, some special visitors read to the kindergartens, among them NJ Assemblyman Ronald Dancer. And in the afternoon, an assembly was held where the students got a visit from none other than the Cat in the Hat himself.
