Story: Letter to the Editor
The following is a Letter to the Editor from People Over Pipelines. It has not been edited in any way.
Bob Martin and the NJDEP have once again inked up their rubber stamp and approved yet another unnecessary natural gas project. On the heels of ignoring compelling data and permitting New Jersey Resource’s Southern Reliability Pipeline, they’ve sent out permits for William Transco’s proposed Garden State Expansion compressor station in Chesterfield.
“Christie’s all out attack on the environment is evident in the cavalier way the DEP issued these permits - after two days of Public Hearing testimony overwhelmingly against the project!”, said Agnes Marsala, President. People Over Pipelines (POP).
POP is holding an informal get together to update the public and explore their next steps on Monday, March 20th, anytime after 6:30PM, at the Chesterfield Inn, Marsala said.
“People Over Pipelines is committed to working with our allies in the ongoing fight against the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the Pinelands Commissions’ coordinated efforts to destroy New Jerseys’ Environment as well as the property values and safety of it’s citizens.”
